Healing
Healing is both a science and an art.
The science of healing understands the physiological processes and the individuals who experience them. When a patient experiences pain or disability in an emotional or physical realm, it is the job of the practitioner to determine what physiological processes are being disrupted to cause the symptom.
The art of healing is establishing an intervention that will help the individual evolve past the pain and regain function. There are infinite methods to curing patients from disease as well as healing them from pain. The art or the creative impulse exists when the practioner intervenes and creates the conditions for a patient to become healthy. The intervention itself is a creative moment where the practitioner designs a path that allows the patient to be symptom free.
Knowledge
The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.
-Kahlil Gibran
In this life I have had the great luck of coming into contact with teachers who taught me how to think instead of what to think, In the practice of self-cultivation, our goal is not to escape from daily living, ascend to a higher plane, or become more spiritual. We practice so that we can become stronger in out bodies and our minds.
In the beginning there is contact. In order to practice on must participate and realize that we are all going through life together. Contact on a more personal level exists in the realm of touch and healing. The goal of healing is to help people connect to their minds and bodies. Through a healing intervention, we can free individuals from the biological and emotional pathogens that plague them so they can live in the moment unrestricted. When people live in the moment they are more powerful at making choices and have control of their lives.
Those who exercise embark on a journey to connect their mind with their body. Exercise is ingerently healthy. It does not have to be an ancient form of movement to have instantaneous benefits to the mind and body. Exercise conditions the body and nervous systems to function more effectively. When an individual exercises they are tempering their internal environment to effectively preserve homeostasis.
The pursuit of knowledge is an attempt to understand the inherent patterns in the surrounding world. Understanding the patterns of nature are essential to understand teh hidden structure of existence. For those who have curious and creative minds, learning filters to pattern the natural world and unlock creative potential opening the doorway to perceiving not just material but energy as well. That which is sacred is only sacred, because unless someone understands the underlying pattern, it appears secret and therefore more powerful and more special.
